The Answered Call

“I’ve waited a hundred years. But I’ll wait a million more for you.” – Turning Page by Sleeping At Last.


To many, these might just be words on a screen, lyrics to a favorite song, and the list goes on. But to me, it was an awakening. As most of you know, I am a spiritual being. I dive deeper than what the eyes can see, beyond what a surface-level mindset can comprehend. I love to find the deepest reasoning behind something simply because I learn so much more about life that way. I learn so much more about myself as well.


Now, I am a huge believer in what you focus on, you create. If you focus on problems 24/7, you get more problems. If you focus on the lovely things, you start to see that as well. As stated in Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”


As I thought about certain desires that I had, I began to question why I desired them, what was the purpose behind it, and what was the purpose of the physical waiting period. The list of questions was endless. I say “physical waiting period” because in spirit, everything is instant. However, we all know how daunting it can be when we envision something and the physical world is still catching up – the illusion of “the waiting period.”


As I meditated on these things, the very first part of “Turning Page” kept looping in my mind. It felt like an ongoing echo. Once I paused to really take notice, it felt like spirit was speaking to me, as always. So I paid attention. How could I not? It wasn’t loud. It wasn’t demanding. It was a gentle whisper. “I’ve waited a hundred years. But I’ll wait a million more for you.” I must have played the song at least 20 times, studying the lyrics to try to catch the message.


Then in that instant, it dawned on me: God has always been guiding me, guiding us to something bigger than we could have ever imagined. Before we were even born, we have always been part of the plan. He has truly “waited a million years” and more for us to begin the journey of returning home like the prodigal son – to truly remember who we are. It’s not that you’re waiting on the desires, but the desires have been waiting on you.


We are spirits walking around in human form. We are channels through which these desires can take form. We are the ultimate embodiment of love, abundance, health, and so much more! Our purpose is not to stress and worry about how these things will be embodied, but to understand that they already are. We have always been provided for. Look around you. You have always been surrounded by your necessities. Everything we want has already been created for us to experience.


You receive divine calls on a regular basis. Your only job is to either accept it or reject it. God shows us what’s possible for us every single day. We just don’t always pay attention. He shows you your dream house, and you think you now have to hustle to make it happen—to make it yours.


However, it is written: “I can do nothing on my own. I judge as God tells me. Therefore, my judgment is just, because I carry out the will of the one who sent me, not my own will.”


Now, let’s dissect that a bit. It is written “my judgment is just.” What is the purpose of a judge? Don’t they decide the outcome of a case? The outcome you decide on is just. Let’s take that further, shall we? As I said, God plants the desire in your mind; you decide whether you want to experience it or not. Your job is to either accept the vision he has shown you, and he gets to work on how it comes to you. Or, you can reject it and replace it with another. The desires of your heart, anchored in love, come from God. They are divine whispers from God. That is why you judge as God tells you as well.


Why replace it once you reject it? It’s important to speak life into what you do want. As we all know, God is an amazing artist! Just as he creates beauty in the world, he also paints us beautiful pictures of the life envisioned for us.


To illustrate this point, imagine this scenario: Let’s say I’m a painter, and it was agreed upon that I would paint you a picture. We have the contract signed and everything. I paint something, and you don’t like it, so obviously you don’t want it. But it’s been agreed upon that I would still paint you a picture. I’ll then ask you, "So, what do you want?" And I’ll get to work on creating it for you. I showed it; you rejected it; then you replaced the idea I gave you with your own.


Now, let’s say we agreed on what you want, and I said I will take care of it. That’s now my job to create it, and it’s my job to get it to you. Are you going to bombard me with 50 questions on how I’m going to paint it, what type of brushes I’m using, what’s taking so long, and so on? Of course not. The same principle applies here.


Once you accept it, are you going to stress about how it’s going to happen? Are you going to allow the outside world to get in between what you and the Father have already established as yours? Most of us will. That is fine, as long as you come back to center and affirm that God has already shown you the promise. Don’t let the world make you forget that the Father dwells within you: “the kingdom of God is within,” Luke 17:21. No one can take away what was already promised to you: “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one,” John 10: 28-30.


I will leave you with one final reminder. The how is not your work: “not my will but thine be done,” Luke 22:42. We don’t decide how it comes. We never have.

A wonderful reminder indeed. God has already prepared the way. It is the Father's good pleasure to give us the kingdom for all that the Father has is mine. No more worry, no more stress.
